SOLD SORRY SOLD This chair asks more questions than I can answer, but I fell in love at first sight and adore its beaten up charms. It's led a few lives I feel. To me it has an American or Spanish feel, but please do correct me if I'm wrong. At one stage it had an upholstered seat, but that has been replaced a long time ago by a wooden seat made from several planks joined. The upholstery pins are still in place and the back rest is still remarkably well upholstered, with a deep button back in possibly artificial leather.... Basic floral carving on the crest of the back, which is a lovely pediment shape. Front legs are turned but in a chunky way, rather than an elegant one. PLEASE NOTE THIS CHAIR IS VERY HEAVY. COLLECTION ONLY - FREE POSTAGE NOT AVAILABLE IN THIS INSTANCE.

OUR TIPS This chair has presence - and its history, though unknown, is visible in all of its flaws, so I wouldn't do a thing to this other than give it a bit of a clean up. It's surprisingly comfortable too, must be the nice wide seat and upright back.

Please see the photos for a record of its condition - the hessian is hanging down under the seat, the uprights are showing the patina of age, and the seat is scratched and faded in places. But its good and strong and will last many more years.
