Tailor's shears made from forged steel and iron, these are considered the 'cadillac' of scissors by tailors even today. Manufactured and patented by Rochus Heinisch as shown on the engraving on the brass cap: R. Heinisch Inventor Newark N.J. USA. He was the first to weld steel to iron. It was said by those in the business that his shears 'allowed one man to do the work of four' as other shears were so badly designed and uncomfortable to use. This pair have a lovely patina to the handles, and show that they've had a good career....
